What We Want to Change in the Future
Our Puppies Will Leave Us Between 10 and 15 Weeks of Age
We have consciously decided – also in consideration of new EU regulations – to keep our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppies with us for longer, with puppies travelling abroad generally leaving from around 15 weeks of age.
This extended period of care and development can offer important benefits for their socialisation, behaviour and preparation for life with their new families.
Why a Later Transition to the New Home Can Be Beneficial
Optimal socialisation:
By spending more time with their mother and littermates, puppies have additional opportunities to learn important canine communication, bite inhibition and appropriate social behaviour.
Emotional and mental development:
The additional weeks give puppies more time to mature and gradually learn how to cope with new situations, changes and everyday experiences.
Healthy physical development:
The additional time allows us to closely monitor each puppy’s physical development and provide age-appropriate nutrition, exercise and veterinary care.
Intensive introduction to everyday life and people:
Before leaving us, our puppies are gradually introduced to everyday household noises, different surfaces, different people, new environments and their first basic rules and routines.
The best possible preparation for their new home:
By the time they leave us, our puppies are age-appropriately developed, well socialised, veterinary checked and vaccinated according to their age and individual vaccination schedule.
Our goal is to raise happy, healthy, confident and well-socialised Cavaliers and give every puppy the best possible start in their new life.
Information for Our Austrian Puppy Families 🇦🇹
Please note:
From 1 July 2026, prospective dog owners in Austria are required under the amended animal welfare legislation to complete the relevant certificate of competence (“Sachkundenachweis”) before acquiring a dog.
The corresponding certificate may also be required when registering your dog with the relevant authorities.
Thank you for your understanding – and for sharing our commitment to responsible dog ownership. 🐶💛
Information for Our German and Other EU Puppy Families 🇩🇪🇪🇺
Please note:
For puppies travelling to another EU country, the applicable rabies vaccination and cross-border movement requirements must be observed.
A rabies vaccination can generally be administered from 12 weeks of age. For the first rabies vaccination to become valid for travel, a waiting period of 21 days generally applies.
Therefore, where these standard EU requirements apply, a puppy can travel to Germany or another EU country from approximately 15 weeks of age at the earliest.
Thank you for your understanding – for the protection and welfare of our puppies and to ensure compliance with the applicable legal requirements. 🐾
